Ducks

The ducks on Stoney Creek below my office window in our fly shop show me where the trout feed. There is a Limestone Ledge 10 feet wide lying perpendicular across the current which is 6 inches below the surface of the stream. The water below this ledge is less than a foot deep and moves slowly. The wild mallards feed heavily upon the nymphs which live on the streambottom here….So do the trout.
Come in below these ledges and fish a Mr. Rapidan Bead Head Nymph upstream dead drift and you’ll do well.
