I use hip boots for all of my small stream trout fishing. I find these more comfortable to wear if I’m going to hike in several miles. They also enable me to crawl around the small streams easily. The ProLine brand I’m using now are fairly thick which I tell myself might deflect the bite of a rattlesnake.
