Fishing the Shenandoah Popper Series

Shenandoah Popper Series

During the summer I enjoy fishing the Shenandoah Popper Series on many sections of the North and South Fork of the Shenandoah River. Today I am going to discuss the three different poppers, their actions, and when to use them.

Shenandoah Blue Popper. This is our number one selling popper for smallmouth and largemouth bass. I cannot explain why the blue color works–but it does.

Shenandoah Sunfish Slider— This popper has a pointed nose. Fish this along the shady banks with a slow teasing action.

Shenandoah Chartreuse Chugger. This has a cupped face that produces a large racket in fast water. It is also effective in deep water and along grassbeds.

I always keep a good supply of each hard head bug while fishing the Shenandoah so I can try all the different areas and water levels.
