Smallmouth Bass

High streams present a problem in getting our flies deeply where the large bass are holding. This is especially a problem if you don’t have a Teeny 200 Sinking Head or a SA Mastery Sink Tip III line and you must use a floating line.

Real fat flies compound this problem because they just don’t sink well. This was part of the challenge I considered when I designed my new Magnum Bass Streamers. All of these are sparse so they sink well and cast very smoothly.

We are catching some very nice smallmouth right now on the Magnum Hog Sucker and Magnum Darter below the riffles, below the islands and in the deep pools.
