This morning we have received .40 inches of much needed rain in Edinburg, VA. The rain has brought with it cool temps.. todays high 56 degrees fahrenheit… The cool temps have dropped the river and stream temperatures a few degrees. This is good for the trout fishing but not so good for the smallmouth fishing. River temperatures remain in the mid 60’s which by the book is a good temperature for bass fishing but Wednesday the water temperature was 73 degrees. This is what I refer to as how the temperatures correlate to fishing in a relative way. (i.e. water temps dropped eight degrees over 48 hours = slower fishing until the fish acclimate to the new temperatures). Anyway I am going fishing this evening when I close the shop, after all any day is a good day to fish!
