Mending the Line

Mending is a great technique for correcting how the current pulls your line and leader as it drifts in the stream because this influences the action and the depth your fly will drift. Remember, you are just “correcting” the drift and you may need to mend downstream as well as upstream and you may need to do both on the same cast in order to have your fly act the way you desire.
