Lots of Knots?

One should know all of the knots needed to rig your reel from the spool all the way down to the fly. There are dozens of outstanding knots and I suggest you experiment with them to find those which work best for you. Finally, refine your selection down to one for attaching the fly and one for attaching the tippet because you will use these often each day. Practice these two often until you can tie them consistently strong even in low light and with cold fingers. The beginning anglers in my fly fishing schools do especially well with the improved clinch for attaching the fly and the double surgons knot for the tippet.
