Have you ever wondered how accurate you are reading the feeding stations in the pools in mountain trout streams to determine where the trout will be feeding? Here is a little game we play to test this.
Give yourself 10 consecutive pools in the stream and allow yourself only one cast in each pool to see if you can catch one trout in each pool. A score of 10 trout for 10 casts is perfect. 5 trout in 10 casts is fair. 2 trout in 10 casts means you need to read the pools more accurately.
Then set up two more stretches of 10 pools and still allow yourself only one cast into each pool and see how you do. Is it possible to learn to read the feeding stations so accurately that you can catch 10 trout in 10 casts? Try this and see what you think.
