Fishing Vest or Pouch?

I use both a vest and a pouch but at different times. Both will easily carry all of the flies I need for a day or even a week. I decide which I’ll use on a specific trip based on my expected needs for the large items. I like a vest if I plan to carry a rain coat, lunch, single lens reflex camera with an extra lens and more than a small bottle of water. If I don’t need all of these items or if I’m floating a river in a boat where I carry these items in a dry boat bag I use my chest pouch.
