Bass & Salt Overlap

Some of my customers ask me if they can use the same 8 weight rod for fishing for bass and saltwater. I really don’t like to because I like a fast powerful rod for my saltwater fishing, but I don’t find this rod pleasant for bass fishing. For example, my favorite 8 weight bass rod is the one Harry Wilson, the founder of the Scott Rod Company, developed. This 908B rod has a strong tip and a medium action butt. It gives easy bug pick up, a smooth casting cycle, great accuracy and it is a pleasure to cast all day long. Today this rod is sold as the Murray/Scott Bass Rod. It is made in both an 8 wieght 908B and a 7 weight 907B.
