Tight Quarters

When I’m on small streams with spooky trout I use my “flip cast” to prevent scaring the trout. Hold the fly in your line hand and with the length of line beyond the rod tip to reach the trout snap the rod forward releasing the fly as the line turns over. If your rod has a delicate tip and a firm butt you’ll be right on target with a very delicate presentation.
