Yesterday was beautiful and today is forecast to be even better. I had to try the river yesterday afternoon and was well pleased with my results. The fishing: 15 fallfish, 0 anything else. Hellgrammites and Marauders proved to be their normal – reliable. The water temperature upstream from Edinburg, VA on the North Fork of the Shenandoah was 45 degrees at 3:00 pm, great water levels for fishing though maybe a little low for March.
Spring is in the air as is evident by the arrival of Robins, the hawks starting to pair up and even a few Easter flowers popping through the ground. It will not be long now. Daylight savings time will steal our morning light next week but it will give us a little more time in the evenings which leaves time to fish after work!
