Scud, shrimp, and cress bugs are a major food source for trout on the local stocked trout streams. I have had great success on these patterns around springs. The greatest numbers of these bugs are found below the springs which I’ve found all across the country. These springs are easy to spot because of the rich green weed growth in them and downstream of them. The trout feed heavily on this all year.
