Fine Tippetts

When the trout streams become low and clear late in the summer and early-fall the trout become very wary. This combined with the fact that much of the natural food is now small means that we will get our best fishing by going at least as fine as 6X. Personally, I often go to 7X with size 18 and 20 flies and I don’t hesitate to go to 8X on smaller flies. This often pays off well.
