I don’t know that I like the alarm clock going off at 04:15. Today started a little earlier than most mornings but at least it was my own fault. 05:30 on the river. I had the pleasure of watching the sunrise over the Massanutten Mountains, 07:15, while wading the North Fork of the Shenandoah. The fishing was great and I only used one fly, a blue popper of course. As for the serenity of being on the river as the day starts and many living things scurry for cover from the bright light, it cannot be beat. Wood ducks, muskrats, a mink, a beaver, quite a few heron, three whitetail deer and several nice smallmouth bass greeted me this beautiful morning.
What a great way to start the day. 08:45 at the Shop. I think I will have to do it again tomorrow……… I have to recommend the early morning outings to everyone reading this entry.
Now, back to work.
