The bass are feeding very well in the early mornings and late evenings. The late evenings have been very good with the great hatches of caddis and Hexagenia Mayflies. The mountain trout streams are also producing fairly well since the over two inches of rainfall we received last week.
As fall approaches the temperatures start to drop and this signals to the bass that it is time to start looking for that last bit of food before winter hits and for the brookies, the cooler temperatures signal the spawning season is near (they start in early October). With these two events occuring it means one thing to me and that is:
It’s time to fish before winter arrives!
