Bass Nymph Fly Fishing

With the unusual warm weather, most of us are ready to do some bass nymph fly fishing on the Shenandoah River. As the water starts to warm, the smallmouth bass will start to feed. Right now the bass are in the deepest sections of the river just waiting for a mouthful to tempt them.

Although I don’t catch large numbers in March, I am always able to land a few. I just enjoy getting on the water and taking in the scenery while wading or floating the river. Plus at this time of year, more than likely you will have parts of the river all to yourself.
