Hide from the High Water

Every year in March I get cabin fever to fish for smallmouth bass. Not only is the river cold but it is usually high in March. However, I know where there are islands in the river so I head for the sides with the small flows and the protected water just downstream of the islands. Usually I can find a few fish holding in these areas that are trying to get away from the fast currents and they are willing to take streamers such as the Murray’s Magnum Creek Chub size 4 and the Pearl Marauder size 6.
